Professional Development for Mexican Principals

In 2014, the Teachers College (TC) Center for Technology and School Change (CTSC), with the support of the Office of International Affairs, facilitated an intensive program for the Professional Development of High School Leaders from Mexico.

The initiative was sponsored by the Instituto de Investigación, Innovación y Estudios de Posgrado para la Educación (IIIEPE), in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.  The program—a component of the Institute’s Executive Program in Leadership and Management of High Schools—was structured to build an iterative support system for organizational change, inviting three priority cohorts of principals to each participate in an intense, one-week professional development experience at TC.  A total of 76 principals participated in the program overall.  The program was led by Dr. Ellen Meier, Senior Lecturer and Director of CTSC.
