A Blended Approach to Teacher Professional Development in Mathematics: A Pilot Study from Sauri, Kenya

CPRE has proposed a research partnership with Columbia University’s Earth Institute (EI) to provide teacher professional development to primary and secondary school Math teachers in EI’s Millennium Villages Project in Sauri, Kenya, and also to evaluate the impact of this intervention on teaching practice and student learning.

Status:  EI has submitted a proposal (on both EI and CPRE’s behalf) to the Columbia Global Policy Initiative for consideration for funding in the spring of 2015. EI/CPRE has been chosen to enter into the second round of the competition (full proposal) due this fall/winter.
