Nora Akawi holds a BArch from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem and a MS in Critical, Curatorial and Conceptual Practices in Architecture from GSAPP. Her research focus is on the political role of the (digital) collective archive in the visualization of the Palestinian spatial narrative and in imagining alternative spatial and political organization. She returned to Jerusalem in October 2011 to teach in the Department of Architecture at Bezalel. She is a co-founding partner at Al-Ma'mal Lab, a collaborative studio and gallery space shared by a group of young designers, visual artists and filmmakers in the Old City of Jerusalem. Nora became the Amman Lab Curator in July 2012.
