The Undergraduate Committee on Global Thought (UCGT) offers an opportunity for Columbia’s undergraduate students to meet and talk with distinguished scholars and practitioners from the Columbia community and beyond whose work places them on the forefront of global trends.

Created by President Lee C. Bollinger, this undergraduate division of the Committee on Global Thought helps to connect global resources to the Columbia University student body while maintaining an interdisciplinary mission of promoting and empowering the exercise of global thought.

The Undergraduate Committee is open to undergraduate students from all of Columbia’s four undergraduate schools. With faculty guidance, the UCGT members plan the Undergraduate Committee’s public events, private workshops with university faculty, and take up issues of global undergraduate education.

The 2015-2016 UCGT Co-Chairs are Diana Lai (School of General Studies, 2016) and Jeffrey Niu (School of General Studies, 2016); advised by CGT faculty members Deborah CoenVishakha N. Desai and Carol Gluck.
