The International Students and Scholars Office assists the more than 10,000 students, interns, scholars, and accompanying family members from nearly 150 countries that come to Columbia each year.

Columbia University in the City of New York hosted over 13,000 international students, interns, scholars, and accompanying international family members from over 153 countries/places of origin. For Fall 2012, the University enrolled 7,032 international students, oversaw 1,765 international students engaged in practical or academic training, and engaged the participation of 3,094 international faculty, researchers, and visiting scholars and scientists. Columbia ranks fifth among the more than 2,000 US colleges and universities reporting international enrollments according to the most recent national data available
