The organization and its initiatives are spearheaded by trustee emeritus Richard Witten, Special Advisor to the President on Entrepreneurship and was launched in 2013.

Columbia Entrepreneurship is a new organization that resides in the President’s Office with close partnership from the University Office of Alumni Relations and Development.  The organization and its initiatives are spearheaded by trustee emeritus Richard Witten, Special Advisor to the President on Entrepreneurship and Directors Dave Lerner and Chris McGarry.

The mission is simple: to help Columbia’s students, faculty and alumni launch Columbia-born ventures.  Tactics include brokering collaborations between existing organizations, filling in gaps where much-needed resources are missing and strengthening school-based entrepreneurship programming.

Working with all schools, organizations, student clubs and alumni groups across the Columbia community, Columbia Entrepreneurship works to cultivate a truly multidisciplinary approach to entrepreneurship and to facilitate the formation of talented teams and exciting new startups.
